Film and analog photography will always have a sweet spot in my photography practice.
As many photographers, I have started with film, but I always kept doing that when digital came in, to the point until I created a real darkroom space in Milan where I create different projects from prints, to diy publications to one to one analog photography workshops.

Working on a portrait photography session with people using the analog medium is a different experience…
An engagement portrait session, a marriage proposal shooting or a family pictures scenario are good chances to work in a more relaxed ways, focusing on the slowness and magic of this medium that no matter how many filters we all use to simulate film, will always look different.
The color tones, the black and white contrast, the slight imperfections, the magic unpredictability and the beauty of a real darkroom print will always end in a result that makes the picture real, alive, precious.

I have nothing against digital photography, I use the same lenses on my digital Nikons but film just looks different.

We can enjoy the “less is more” philosophy trying to treat every shot as unique and precious, and focus on the mood, not on quantity. In our memory, just a few shots are those that we treasure for a long time, and film photography always had a focus on this concept…before cameras were made to make 50 frames each second…just be present, without electronics, and get different shades of life.

Can we have a shooting mixed in analog black and white and color film?
Absolutely, we can plan these details together!

We would like to use medium format too, is this possible?
Yes, we can shoot beautiful 6x6 photography for stunning prints

Will you deliver the digital scan of the shooting? Can we have prints?
A wide selection of the shooting will be scanned and sent you in high-resolution, but we can plan together a fine-art print of a selection, this is the real final for a film shooting and I will be happy to help!

How many shots you will take from an analog film session? can we mix something digital too?
Everything can be done and mixed, but generally remember analog is not about quantity, who needs hundreds of photos that will all look the same?

Do analog photography makes a price difference?
Yes, film has a price, but not as much as you think…remember that digital is cheap only if you keep it as a file, if you print there’s almost no difference at the end…

We are visiting Milan as we pass by to other places, can you organise shootings in different places than Milan too?
Yes, for example we can plan a photography session in lake Como, beautiful scenery close to Milan area…I can give you all the informations you need for something beautiful there.
